COURSE: Digital Darkroom: Introduction to Capture One Pro

David Grover provided a very informative presentation about Capture One, and came across as a great educator. He was very patient and explained everything clearly and in everyday language.

Grads and more

COURSE: How to: Filters

I didn't know much about grads and ND filters which is why I signed up for this course. I do now and I'm glad I did sign up. Neil and Ricci know just about everything you need to know about using these types of filters with Nikon cameras and lenses. Their knowledge is similar to a bottomless pit. I suspect they get asked the same questions time and time again, yet they answer them with patience and positively encourage questions. An enjoyable couple of hours.

COURSE: Getting Started with Photography - Pt. 1

Having been out of photography for a number of years and needing to replace my ancient Nikon D200s, I signed up for this course to find out how technology had moved on. Neil and Ricci covered just about every aspect I was keen to know about without me asking any questions! The course covered literally everything from shutter speeds guidance, the best aperature to use to prevent lens distortion and more. Neil and Ricci's photos are excellent.

COURSE: How to: Filters

Neil and Ricci explained about the different graduated and neutral density filters which can be used to great effect on landscape photography in particular, and provided a number of useful tips for the settings required to achieve the desired effects.

Something very new for me

RATING: 4.8 of 5
DATE: JULY 2020

COURSE: Nikon School Live: Macro Oil and Water

I joined the course as this was a new area for me and I came out of it thinking about creating abstract stills and motion. The course set up was simplicity - I am glad I did not "try it at home" during the two hours as I would have made a mess and missed things. The simple things often work best, and Neil's demonstration showed how easy it is to be a creative. Ricci gave good support whilst Neil crawled around and overall it was an entertaining and informative session.

Coherent and consistent.

RATING: 4.8 of 5

COURSE: How to: Sunrise & Sunset Photography

Having been to two other similar events, there was inevitably a bit of overlap. However, although there was a welcome consistency in the information given, there were subtle differences which really enhanced the experience. Seeing the same images from a slightly different critical perspective was extremely useful.
Neil & Ricci's different presentation styles complement one another very well.
