Neil did an excellent job in explaining how the shoot would work, what we’re trying to achieve and helping everyone with settings etc. though the whole shoot was really good. The model, Emily, was friendly and obliging in helping the photographers.

Neil was really engaging and made sure we all understood what he was explaining, and - importantly - got plenty of time to put it into practice. In one hour I learnt the foundations of controlling ambient lighting and how to use flash, and this was incredible value for a free course!

As a newcomer into the Z system, I needed to be trained on the use of my Z6II. This course was beyond my expectations. Being a follower of Ricci's youtube channel, I was delighted to know he would be the course host. Therefore quality content as expected, clear and thorough explanations. This course provides a solid foundation regarding the use of the camera. I am certain that the second part of the course will not disappoint either.

Excellent day out at the Wildlife centre with Ricci. Ricci was, as usual, was full of technical advice for all the various cameras the delegates were using. He helped with a couple of aspects that I too was unsure of. He also gave good compositional advice and checked everyone was getting their shots. I took over 1500 during the day and am very pleased with the results. Others were a no show but we managed to shoot a Badger for the first time. Squirrels and Foxes are still the stars.

Part of the Photography Show, but more than a typical show presence. A chance to think about light in a real life situation, work with a professional model and learn about your camera at the same time. Thank you Nikon for making the exhibition experience memorable for me - the best part of the Show.

The highlight of the photography show this year (2022) for me was a 1 hour tutorial with Neil Freeman from the Nikon School. Neil bought along a fabulous model Emily and the two of them put our group totally at ease. Neil demonstrated off camera flash and his Nikon product knowledge was exemplarily.
All too soon the 1 hour shoot was over but I came away withy some nice images and a better understanding of flash.
All in all a great experience at what turned out to be a bit of a mediocre show.

Very enjoyable session led by Neil - relaxed pace and highly informative. Neil taught us how to build a properly lit portrait - both inside and with fill-flash outdoors. Highly recommended.

Great insight into outdoor and indoor portraits and the difference in settings and the use of light great model to work with a good size of group.
REVIEWER: Gavin T.
Having done very little portrait photography using two different methods outdoors was very useful. Having one to one time in each of the locations with the model was good.

I am looking at changing my software, the relatively poor performance of Adobe Raw with Z9 files being but one factor. Capture 1 was of interest and this offers a good introduction. Neil took us through the basic workflow and edited sample images of different types to help us start using this powerful software. I had just downloaded the trial version and this session greatly help in exploring the options and tools available. Recommended if you are thinking of using Capture1
